Casework is one to one work undertaken by many agencies and organisations which work with elderly people. They work with individual older people to firstly identify their needs and preferences, and to identify potential solutions to their needs. This means working with the older person, getting their informed agreement to a plan of action and undertaking this on their behalf or assisting them to access services. Services and products such as benefits can be complex and difficult to access, so the casework expertise of a caseworker with knowledge of these can be especially helpful to elderly people.
