Independent living > Homesharing
Homesharing is a way for an elderly person with a spare room in their home to find the basic help they need, as well as companionship. In exchange for generally living free in the home of the older person, a homesharer will help with daily tasks like shopping, and light housework. Homesharing services match older people who need to share their homes in order to maintain them with people who are able to provide live-in companionship, security, and domestic tasks on a voluntary basis. Householders using these services are mostly very elderly, and the homesharers are generally students or working people who commit themselves to sleeping in the home at night.
