What does it do?

sedcat operate the BAT Bat, a door to door shopping service, which collects members from their homes and takes them to the shops for two hours shopping four mornings a week. The bus collects members and takes them to Castlepoint Shopping Centre - drop off Top Mall and Shopmobility : TESCO, Riverside Avenue : Boscombe Sovereign Centre - drop off Shopmobility : ASDA St Paul's Road.

The BAT Bus runs Wednesday afternoon and full day Saturday outings to places of local interest, which often include a pub lunch, or afternoon tea at a Garden Centre. 

Who it is for?

The Elderly and anyone who finds using public transport difficult either because of a physical or sensory disability, and who live within Bournemouth Borough postcode area BH1 - BH11

Where it is available?

Local service (East Dorset, Bournemouth).

What it costs:

Annual membership is £6 to join with a £5 return fare for a shopping trip and afternoon outing. Full day outings cost £8. There are no carers on the BAT Bus but members are welcome to bring a carer with them who will be charged a return fare for each trip.

What to expect then:

Once the annual membership fee of £6 is received a membership card is sent out with a letter explaining how the BAT Bus booking line works.
