What does it do?

A community based transport scheme. It is run by volunteers using their own cars and a modified vehicle for wheelchair access. Transport can be for any reason - medical appointments, shopping, hairdresser appointments

Who it is for?

The Volunteer Driver Scheme is a service for residents of Rochdale Borough aged 50 and over. It intends to help those who are unable to use regular forms of public transport due to disability or factors associated with old age.

Local service (Rochdale).

What it costs:

Trips cost 45p per mile.

How to access or apply for it:

Call 0800 032 086 to register and book transport. An annual membership of £10 is required.

Additional information:

You need to give at least 24 hours notice when booking your journey.
