Torridge Volunteer Car Service

What does it do?

Volunteers use their own car to provide a door to door service to any destination, typically, shopping, medical or social appointments.

Who it is for?

For local people who are unable to use regular forms of public transport due to disability, rurality or factors associated with old age.

Local service (Torridge).

What it costs:

There is a £1 booking fee for every journey and is collected by the driver. This charge helps towards the upkeep of the office. The drivers will also charge 45 pence per mile from their own home to cover their expenses and if the journey is arranged through a referral agency then an additional admin fee may also be payable. Call the office to discuss.

How to access or apply for it:

Ring the booking line on 01237 423232 between 9.30 and 12.30, Monday to Friday, giving at least 2 working days notice.
