Woodclough Day Centre

What does it do?

Woodclough Day Centre opens Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and has dedicated staff who will help maintain people's dignity and rights and also help promote independence at all times.

A choice of lunch and light tea options are available at a daily cost of £3.10.

A wide range of activities are available which include:

  • Armchair excercises
  • Memory games
  • Baking
  • Crafts
  • Bowling
  • Health and beauty sessions
  • Chat groups

Therapeutic, stimulation and emotional support is also available

Transport can be provided by Rochdale Borough Council if this is an assessed need, or 'travel training' can be provided to enable service users to use public or other forms of transport.  The current charge for local authority transport is £1.50 per journey.

How to access or apply for it:

The Adult Social Care Team is the first point of contact for all referrals and general enquiries. When you contact us we'll discuss your situation over the phone, check that we've got all our facts straight and then follow this up with a visit to your home to talk about your personal and practical needs and to discuss what help is available.

We may provide or arrange services for you but if you want more choice and control over your own life then you might be interested in a Personal Budget.  This means that you can choose to have a managed service or a Direct Payment, to arrange or purchase your own support.
