What does it do?L&H Homecare is a vital support service providing a range of care and support services in Grimsby and the surrounding areas designed to enable people over 65 or those adults with a physical disability to live as independently as possible in their own home. We offer our customers a holistic service – not just providing the basic essentials, but caring for the whole person – body, mind and spirit.
Your carer is there to help you to enjoy the best quality of life possible. If you have a specific personal goal or if there are some extra steps you would like to take then your carer is there to assist and guide you – never restricting you. Perhaps you would like to prepare a snack for yourself or take your dog for a walk, if possible, we will be there to encourage and help you to achieve that goal.
Range of Care Services
Our carers can provide you with a wide variety of services as required to meet the needs of individual customers. The services offered fall into the four main areas below:
Personal Care
- Bathing and showering to maintain personal hygiene
- Support with lavatory needs
- Help with preparing and serving meals
- Assistance with medication
- Personal grooming
Mobility
- Help with dressing and undressing
- Assistance with getting in and out of bed
- Help with moving around your home
- Assistance with getting to work / daytime activities
- Help with going to the post office, shops etc
- Assistance with attending social activities / going on holiday
Household Tasks
- Keeping the house clean
- Staying warm / cool
- Running errands
- Washing and ironing of clothes
- Collecting pensions and prescriptions
- Paying bills
- Shopping and light household duties
- Feeding Pets
Social Interaction
- Providing companionship and interaction
- Helping to keep in touch with family and friends
- Assistance with pursuing hobbies and interests
- Attending church
