What does it do?An assessment will be required to establish whether an individual is eligible for Day Services.
Day Services can be provided

  • by attending a Day Centre. This can offer opportunities to learn new skills and hobbies or relearn old ones, meet new friends and enjoy trips out. Meals and refreshments are usually included and transport may be offered subject to being eligible. Day Centres may be organised by Social Care Services or Voluntary organisations, and are held in community centres, colleges or purpose built centres.
  • via the allocation of a Direct Payment (again, subject to eligibility.) which is an amount of money paid by Social Care Services to people to arrange their own activities.

Adult Social Care staff will support individuals who have been assessed as needing Day Services to access information regarding a range of activities available within their local community.
