Care and support to live at home

What does it do?

Care in your own home is for people who require assistance with personal care such as washing or dressing, or daily tasks like cooking and cleaning, or help in managing finances. Staff offer support by working closely with relatives and other carers, so that, where appropriate, caring tasks can be shared. We will work with you to develop confidence and possibly regain skills to increase your independence.

If you think you need some help to live at home, we’ll discuss with your current situation and ask questions to help us understand your needs, between us we will look at the everyday things you want to be able to do, and the impact on your day-to-day life of not being able to do them.

This is called an assessment. We’ll provide you with information, advice or inform you about services or facilities available in your local community which might help meet your needs.
