What does it do?The Front Door (County Wide)A service for anyone who would like more information about emotional wellbeing, available services or self-help. You can either talk on the telephone, arrange someone to visit you for a chat, or email us with your query at kate@counselling.ageconcernwarks.co.ukCommunity Support (County Wide)This is a regular, long term service for people whose isolation is affecting their emotional health. It is provided by volunteers who will:Provide companionship, talking and listening Provide support with daily living (no personal care) e.g. form filling, reading letters Take people out, e.g. shopping, walking or going for a drive Encourage people to gain access to other resources where appropriate Referrals for this service need to come from your GP or other health professional. However, we can provide you with a form or contact your health professional direct.Counselling (South Warwickshire)If you feel that you want to talk to someone about how you are feeling or about problems that you have, our counselling service may be appropriate for you. The service is available to all older people and their carers and is provided by volunteer Counsellors, so is free of charge. The Counselling sessions take place in your own home, however other arrangements can be made if required.You can contact us directly to make an appointment.Specialist Advocacy Service (County Wide)A service which enables vulnerable, older people who are deemed to lack mental capacity to access a specialist advocacy service. The service is provided by trained volunteer advocates.You can contact us directly to arrange an appointment.Peer Support for Older People (North Warwickshire)A service working in conjunction with the Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust (Mental Health) to improve access for older people to local primary care Mental Health Support and Services. The service is provided by peer support volunteers who have experience of mental health issues and are motivated to assist patients to seek help. Currently this service only operates in North Warwickshire and referral is by GP only.

Who it is for:

This range of services may be able to help if you are experiencing low mood or are feeling stressed of anxious, or you just require someone to talk to.Our Front Door, Community Support and Advocacy services are open to all older people in Warwickshire county.Our Counselling service is open to South Warwickshire residents only.Our 'Peer Support for Older People' service is available only in North Warwickshire.

Local service covering: North Warwickshire, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rugby, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick (Warwickshire).
