Herts Careline

Community alarm service for people living in Hertfordshire

What does it do?

Hertfordshire Careline's products and services

Hertfordshire Careline’s community alarm and telecare services give users the freedom to live independently in their own home. The service provides reassurance to users and their families that help is on hand via our Hertfordshire based Control Centre at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When we receive a call from your alarm unit our highly trained and dedicated operators will know exactly who you are, your medical history and will be able to talk to you via the speaker built into the alarm unit. Once we have knowledge of the problem we will either contact your designated responder (family member or friend), doctor, carer or the emergency services if necessary.

We also have a Fallback Response Service that will attend your house if we receive a call from your alarm unit but cannot get a vocal response back from you, or if we cannot get in touch with one of your responders. The Fallback Response Service provides re-assurance,that where we are unable to ascertain the nature of an emergency and no designated responder can attend, then a Fallback Response Officer will visit you to check on your wellbeing and advise the Careline operator of the circumstances. The Fallback responders are not medically trained and are therefore unable to assist with personal care or help you up if you have fallen. They will however instigate the necessary statutory response in order to ensure your safety and wellbeing. This is one of the key benefits of our service which sets us apart from other providers.

In non-urgent situations we may be able to liaise with other agencies on your behalf such as Social Services or Meals on Wh
eels.
