- stair lift provision
- ground floor facilities for wheelchair users.

Who it is for: We provide services to assist disabled, vulnerable and older people to remain safe and independent in their own home. We work in partnership with Cornwall Council and other local voluntary and non-profit organisations. We can provide advice and guidance about problems with the maintenance of your home, and about any benefits you may be entitled to, to assist you to fund works to your home. | Where it is available: Local service covering: North Cornwall (Cornwall). Mears Home Improvement Ltd Wadebridge serves the North Eastern region of Cornwall, covering the communities of Padstow, Bodmin, Wadebridge, Launceston, Bude, Tintagel, and surrounding villages. | What it costs: For our Handyperson service, costs are calculated individually for each job. Materials are charged at cost. If you are in receipt of means tested benefits you will be eligible for a reduced labour rate. Our handyperson can undertake a free assessment visit to give you a no-obligation quotation so that you know what the cost of works would be before agreeing to have the works done.
Where we offer an agency service for larger building works, we charge a percentage fee - 15% (plus VAT) of the ex-VAT cost of the works. In many cases where adaptations are needed to help a disabled client, financial assistance is available via a Disabled Facilities Grant. Our staff can give you more information based on your personal circumstances. | How to access or apply for it: We encourage you to give our team a call on 0800 066 5084 to discuss your needs. | What to expect then: Our service fully supports you from the design of the scheme to the completion of works, and can include advice and assistance with finding funding from the local council or charitable funding if this is available.
