Nail Cutting Service

What does it do?

Our nail cutting service is run by trained staff who can help with cutting nails. Please note, this is not a chiropody service.

People who wish to use the service will be assessed for their suitability for the service and will have the limitations of the service explained to them.

You will not be eligible to access our nail cutting service if:
- You are taking certain medication e.g. blood thinners; steroids (blue card); anti-coagulants (green card); immunosuppressive or chemotherapeutic agents
- You are diagnosed as diabetic
- Your nails are too thick to cut with nail clippers
- You have circulatory problems

Who it is for?

Our nail cutting service is available to people over 50 who have impaired eyesight, reduced mobility because of arthritic changes, or an inability to reach their feet for physical or medical reasons.
The service is also for when it would not be safe or practical for you to take on this task yourself.

Local service (Brighton & Hove).

What it costs:

The current charge for these services are:
£12.50 for a home visit, or £11.00 at one of the clinics.
We can also cut fingernails for £5 – this is an add-on service to either a home or clinic visit.
In addition, new clients must purchase a nail kit for £5. This is a one-off cost and it can be used for a whole year.
