What does it do?Nurses, supported by a large body of osteoporosis professionals who lend their expertise to the charity, provide information based on the most accurate and up-to-date knowledge. The nurses are also skilled in providing emotional support and can direct callers to other relevant organisations that might be able to provide additional help.
Who it is for: Anyone who requires information and advice about osteoporosis and bone health.
Where it is available:National service (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales).
What it costs:The service is free of charge.

The telephone Helpline is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
Additional information:You don't have to be a member of the National Osteoporosis Society to ring the Helpline but becoming a member supports the charity in
providing this invaluable lifeline. The nurses also welcome calls from health professionals.
The nurses treat all inquiries as private and confidential and complying with the Data Protection Act 1998.
0845 calls provided by BT will be charged at up to 4 pence per minute with a call set-up fee of 8 pence per call from residential lines (some
call packages from BT provide free 0845 calls) Mobile and other providers’ charges may vary.
