What does it do?The Handyperson scheme offers help to carry out a wide range of minor household repairs. There are four main work types:
  • Minor repairs - for example, leaking gutters, replacing tap washers
  • Crime prevention and home security - for example, door locks, chains, window locks, security lights
  • Home safety - for example, loose floorboards, trailing cables
  • Energy efficiency - for example, draught proofing of windows and doors, tank lagging
  • Painting, decorating and gardening are not included within the scheme.

Who it is for:

People who are 60 or over, disabled, or otherwise vulnerable.

Local service covering: Rochdale (Greater Manchester).

What it costs:

We provide labour free of charge. In most cases you will only pay for materials (there is no charge for crime prevention measures for example, door locks, chains).
