What does it do?Wakefield Family Services provide day care services for older people. This is provided from six Day Centres across the district offering a wide range of activities to maintain independence.

As part of Family Services our day care services for older people aims to support the whole family.

Day Centres have access and facilities for a range of disabilities. All staff are trained and work to strict council guidelines.

How to access or apply for it:

If you already have a social worker, please talk to them about it. If not, please contact Social Care Direct above on 0845 8503 503.

What to expect then:

A community care assessment will then be completed by the appropriate professional which will include a financial assessment.

If eligible for the service an introductory visit to the day centre will be arranged.
