What does it do?
Our job is to make sure that the views of the over 50s are taken into account by decision-makers. We influence policy and organise events and projects that raise issues affecting older people.

To join the Elders Council contact Anne Richardson on 0191 208 2701.
What to expect then:
You will receive the Elders Council newsletters, normally issued every two months.
You will be invited to all general meetings for members, of which there are at least two every year.
You have the opportunity to join a working group or start a new one.
You will receive invitations to consultation meetings organised by local, regional and national agencies, for example Newcastle Library Service or the Regional Housing Board.
