A statement by the ADSS, Audit Commission, Local Government Association, Better Government For Older People, Nuffield Institute, and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. These organisations promote the need for a fundamental shift from focussing on prevention of illness/need for intensive support, to positive emphasis on well-being & engagement with the wider community. There needs to be a widespread change in attitudes to ageing, an holistic approach, and greater joint working between agencies to address the issues and priorities identified by older people
