Show more "Old Bond’s Hospital in Coventry was built in the early sixteenth century in a corner of the city wall in Hill Street next to St. John’s Church. The original building is still in occupation today with six self-contained flats with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room all recently renovated to meet the expectations of today’s residents.

In the 1970’s an extension was added now with four upgraded flats. The most recent development in 2004 added 31 further flats three of which have two bedrooms. All are centrally heated and most have walk-in shower rooms. The kitchens in the flats are fully fitted with cooker and fridge/freezer.

There are two lifts giving easy access to the upper floors. On the ground floor there is a large communal lounge with kitchen and almost every day there are activities arranged. The conservatory contains a pool table and there is a hobbies room. The IT room has two computers for residents’ use and houses the library. A laundry room is adjacent to the kitchen with two washing machines and tumble driers. There is access to the garden which has a drying area.

The facilities in each of our scheme exceed what you might expect from Independent Living accommodation. There are many opportunities, outings and social events when residents can meet with each other, sharing experiences and making friends. And our Residential Scheme Managers are on hand to keep an eye on the well-being of residents and the premises during working hours. Out of hours the Central Control call system in each flat ensures a prompt response to emergencies.

The gardens contain the most complete section of the city wall and are carefully maintained. Several residents have their own plots and there are two sheds for residents’ use." Show less
