Show more "Edina Court, located in the “Capital of the Fens” northeast of Peterborough, comprises three adjacent properties – Edina Court itself, The Haven and Bramley Lodge. They offer a mixture of Sheltered Housing and Housing with Care – together with a specialist dementia Day Care Centre, The Rosebank Centre, also in the grounds.

Edina Court was opened in 1986 by Lady Fermoy – the maternal grandmother of Diana, Princess of Wales. It had been the home of Mr and Mrs Alan Hudson, fruit farmers in Wisbech. On the death of his wife, Mr Hudson gave the house to MHA on the condition that twenty flats would be built for older people. The Hudson Foundation has continued to support MHA and has been fundamental in the on-going development of MHA’s presence in Wisbech with donations totalling over £250,000.

In 1994, the Hudson Foundation generously donated the capital costs of The Haven, a Victorian house two doors down the road, and this was converted into twelve more flats. Ten years later, Bramley Lodge was created, again with the support of the Hudson Foundation, providing 18 more flats and a well-used library and games room for all the tenants’ use.
At the same time, The Rosebank Centre was built, with an incredible £500,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation.

The Centre serves up to 20 people living with dementia. It aims to provide stimulation for its service users, while carers receive a well-deserved day’s rest and the reassurance that their loved one is being well cared for." Show less
