Comments about Charles Ponsonby House

With well constructed '80s vernacular functionality, the demised premises have a long lease which includes provision of a warden service. It's a neighbourly place, and everyone's welcome at the tea party to have a chat about the olden days at Charles Ponsonby, or dialectic materialism and the local relevance of Hegelian phenomenology, or Aristototelian metaphysics, or whatever! Oxford is SO cool. And there's a nice garden.05/08/2017R (currently lives here)reply

My mother, now 89 has been living in Charles Ponsonby for about 8 years and my grandmother was one of the first residents. My grandmother loved it and it made the last 5 years of her life very happy. My mother is also very happy there. When the time comes I would seriously consider CPH for my wife and I as well. It’s a cheerful place with very friendly staff. Residents can socialize or not as they wish. There are people around if you want company, but there’s no obligation. The flats can be made to look very nice and are of a manageable size for an older person living on his or her own. The location is excellent. Summertown is a very friendly area with lots of old people, but with younger people too. I would strongly recommend CPH to anyone looking for sheltered accommodation for an older relative living alone and even for couples. For two people one would be living at pretty close quarters, but it has been done. Most of the residents are living on their own, however. 31/07/2017Richard (relative of someone who lives/lived here)reply
