Extra Care housing is suitable for older people with care needs who want to remain independent. Oak Way House is BHA's first Extra Care Scheme, and is part of the larger development on Kimbolton Road. Oak Way House was completed in January 2017 and consists of 42 individual Flats.Flats have one or two bedrooms and are completely self-contained with a fitted kitchen, including an oven and hob. The flats have a wet room designed to make it easier for older people to stay independent. They also have underfloor heating, An emergency alarm system is fitted throughout the building to allow tenants to call for assistance in an emergency. The communal areas have wifi and a number of lounges and dining rooms including an impressive atrium. Laundry facilities, parking and scooter mobility stores are also available. A large full landscaped accessible garden. Separate arts & crafts space. Assisted bathing facilities.
It is a condition of your tenancy that you require care. This can be anything from 5 - 30 hours of care per week. You can buy your care from any provider including BCHA who offer a Home Care Service at Oak Way House.
