Show more "“When I walked into Amathea without an appointment and saw how well run it was, I looked no further.” This comment, made by a relative to the Care Quality Commission, suggests not only the professionalism of Amathea’s staff but also the welcome sense of home and community that anyone living here can expect.A modern, purpose-built home for 40 residents, life at Amathea reflects the importance to MHA of quality and choice for older people. Staff members take the time and care to get to know residents as individuals, talking to them and their families about their likes and dislikes and personal backgrounds and stories, in order to be able to provide the person-centred care that lies at the heart of MHA’s values.
With links to the local Alzheimer’s club and mobile library, Amathea works hard to enable older people, including those with dementia and special nursing needs, to express themselves and enjoy the world around them.
Private single rooms with en suite facilities ensure that all residents have privacy and comfort, while the home’s lounges and landscaped garden offer sociable and safe spaces to enjoy the company of others. Here, too, we are committed to providing alternative therapies such as reflexology and music therapy as ways of enhancing personal well-being, while a wide range of activities, visits and events are always on offer for you to take part in if you wish."
