Show more "Leaving a parent in the care of a Residential Home can create mixed feelings for the child or relative: a sense of guilt at not doing more themselves, perhaps, or anxiety that the care offered by the Home won’t be up to standard. It is important to MHA, therefore, to be able to hear words such as these: “After visiting my Mum at Queen’s Court I can leave with a light heart, knowing that she is getting the best possible care.”
MHA took over the management of Queen’s Court, along with Orchard House and Kingswood Park, in 2001, in a joint venture with Hereward Housing who own the building.
Situated on the edge of The Fens and just six miles east of Cambridge, Queen’s Court is able to manage a mix of support, providing a home for 21 residents, a further six residents with dementia and an additional eight persons requiring respite care. This capability will expand with the completion of current refurbishment and an extension that will add a further 22 rooms.
There is also a Day Centre for older people living in the surrounding villages. It runs four days a week and provides a social opportunity, also, for the permanent residents." Show less
