"1. We believe that all clients are entitled to the highest standard of care that we, as a team, can provide without prejudgement or prejudice.
2. Our clients are to be encouraged to participate in the planning and implementation of their own care whenever possible.
3. Each individual, regardless of their condition, circumstances and presentation should have their dignity and self-respect acknowledged and maintained at all times and their independence encouraged as appropriate.
4. A pleasant informal setting combined with a relaxed atmosphere is encouraged with minimum staff/client barriers.
5. Relatives are encouraged to have an active involvement in all aspects of the continuing care carried out at the Home. Education and support of relatives is an ongoing process.
6. Motivation of clients in the Home is one of our highest aims.
7. To ensure total client care, involvement of all disciplines is cultivated and used to full advantage ie. GP's/social workers/ physiotherapists/ etc.
8. We aim to build up a trusting and honest relationship with all clients, thereby breaking down the barriers of nurse/ auxiliary/ client relationships, thus enhancing two-way communication.
9. We see staff as being here to enhance clients existing skills and to re-educate/teach clients daily living skills in the home.
10. Ongoing education of all staff, be they trained or auxiliary, so that a consistent approach is guaranteed, implementation of all current nursing/residential home policies is maintained, staffing skills and motivations are increased, which we view as essential.
11. All staff members, regardless of status, are to have an active involvement and participation in all elements of client care.

The Home's philosophy of care: to maintain independence, dignity and quality of life as each patient is able to achieve, with or without intervention." Show less
