“Mali Jenkins House was the UK's first specialist residential home caring for people with Parkinson's Disease. The home is named after the founder of the Parkinson's Disease Society, herself a carer who looked after her sister who had Parkinson's. This purpose built home offers care to residents from the age of 40. It offers fully furnished, spacious single rooms which also have a kitchenette area with refrigerator and are en-suite. Staff are specially trained and each resident is allocated a 'key worker' to introduce them to the home and other residents. The home also has a garden and seating area for residents to enjoy. Daily activities are arranged, including trips out to local places of interest, and the home has links with the local branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society.
