Owner's description

“Bradbury House is a care home for 41 elderly residents, within our registration category we are able to care for the frail elderly including those with visual, hearing, sensory and mobility impairments; Parkinson’s disease, and diabetes; subject to a full care needs assessment prior to acceptance onto our waiting list. The Home is registered by the Care Quality Commission (C.Q.C.).
This purpose built-house is situated in a peaceful location in Old Beaconsfield. It is within walking distance of the Old Town centre and local shops.

Bradbury House has its own attractive landscaped garden, with numerous pathways providing wheelchair access to all garden facilities, such as the summerhouse, patio, pond and Activity Centre.

Bradbury House was conceived in 1988 because of a strongly felt local need for a care home in which people could spend the rest of their lives. It was built through the faith and vision of a group of local people drawn from the local churches. A total of £2.1 million was raised in gifts, loans and by fundraising efforts.

We offer a wide range of activities at Bradbury House in our new dedicated Activity Centre. This is for residents living at Bradbury House and Day Care residents who can use the centre Mon-Fri 10am-4pm (at a Charge) few have regular weekly events to entertainers, for which there is generally no charge.
We have regular sessions of art, craft, gentle exercises and every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons we have activities such as: quizes, musical bingo, treasure hunts, board games, exploring reminiscence articles, sing-a-long, desert island discs, gardening, flower arranging, musical appreciation and cooking.
We also go out to garden centres and stately homes for the afternoon.
We try to offer a theatre visit once every two months. We have been to the ballet, local theatre productions and the opera. (There is an extra charge for this)
We have entertainers to visit occasionally, amongst whom have been magicians, The Scouts, playgroups, an animal trainer, theatre companies, story tellers, flamenco dancers, Trefoil Guild members, barber shop groups, choirs and many more
