Owner's description

“In 2005, MHA signed an agreement with ExtraCare to purchase eight of its Homes in the Coventry and Midlands region, including Abbey Park. Abbey Park stands in the grounds of the old Abbey Park Home, on the site of the former Whitley Hospital. It joined the growing MHA network of Homes specialising in dementia care and work with frail older people.
It is a light and airy Home providing 84 places in total, incorporating a 30 place dementia unit, 15 spaces for palliative care, 14 intermediate care places and a further 25 spaces for nursing care. Complete refurbishment in 2005-6 has given Abbey Park improved facilities, re-landscaped gardens and more recently the Home has built a library and shop facility. In addition, the volunteer fundraising committee has helped the Home make a joint purchase, with sister Home Allesley Hall, of a minibus.
The entire facility is maintained to a high standard so that one resident remarked: “The first morning I woke up in Abbey Park, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.”....” show more
