The home has a main dining area, several lounges of different sizes and a conservatory area. The home is staffed by a friendly team who promote a family atmosphere. Personal development and knowledge are also promoted, with the team achieving or working towards diplomas in care, and taking part in training programmes to enhance the level of care within the home. Residents are encouraged to have a say in home life through regular meetings.

The Elms has 41 single rooms. All rooms have television points. There are a number of pleasant lounge areas and dining rooms around the building. One of the lounges is fitted with a hearing loop, a discreet device to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties.
