Comments about Langley Court

My mother, who very recently passed away at the ripe old age of 94 , resided at Langley Court for some three and a half years. She had previously been house bound following a hip replacement operation and moved in to the Rest Home in July, 2011. Although initially missing her independence she settled in quite well and built a good relationship with the various members of staff. She often commented about the kindly staff, good food and had company with people of her own age. My mother just had my sister and I as family and at the outset when she first arrived we visited more often to help her settle in, ultimately we tended to visit once a week each. We could turn up at any time, unannounced, just stay in, sit in the garden - quite a sun trap, or take mum out for a spin in the car. We always found her clean and in good spirits. There is an informality about Langley Court which makes it very friendly. It has a good atmosphere and the staff headed by Ann are cheerful and competent in their respective roles. There appears to be a lot of form filling and admin that they have to do which must be very time consuming. According to the CQC it gets done and is up to date, as required. I just hope when the time comes that there is a space for me and Ann is still in charge!20/01/2015David (relative of someone who lives/lived here)reply
