The youngest building in the Lilian Faithfull Homes group, Astell was constructed in 1910 as a boarding house for teachers of The Cheltenham Ladies College and was commissioned by Lilian Faithfull herself while she was the Principal.A comfortable lounge, airy dining room and quiet library look out onto delightful private and secure gardens. The garden is extremely popular with Astell’s residents, who enjoy spending time in the rose garden and underneath the beautiful willow tree. The large summer house, which is fitted out as a 1960s-style bar, is a popular place to socialise and sit with visiting family and friends. All floors are accessed by the lift while at the heart of the building there is an attractive wooden staircase. It is set beneath a beautiful cupola, which floods the stairs with light. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and residents can access the internet via a wireless connection in every bedroom.
