The scheme contains 40 one and two bedroom apartments, each with a lounge, kitchen and access to a communal lounge and garden.Only two minutes' walk from the town centre, Greenwood Court is situated in the very heart of bustling Leyland. A typical Lancashire town with a great heart and community spirit, there's plenty to do locally with a range of amenities, local markets and social clubs as well as transport links to explore Lancashire or even further afield. The scheme benefits from a scheme manager service to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents and to provide a link with doctors, families, friends and the support services. As an Extra Care scheme, we work with care and support providers who have a team on site that can provide for those wanting additional support. In most cases this alleviates the need to immediately go into hospital or residential care when your condition becomes such that you cannot manage independently.
The scheme is also monitored by the Control Centre and should an emergency arise they can be contacted by pulling the red intercom cord or pressing a pendant. This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
There are a wide range of optional social activities at the scheme from coffee mornings to lunch clubs and day trips. Residents can take advantage of books from the on-site library and can access the internet via the communal computer.
