Our home is fully compliant with all requirements set by the Care Quality Commission and is recognised as Grade 1 quality standard by Newcastle City Council. We offer both residential and nursing care and provide specialist support to people with dementia. We also welcome those who would benefit from a period of respite care.
Our experienced manager leads a skilled and compassionate nursing and staff team, with staff on hand 24 hours a day to make sure residents are provided with the best care possible. A number of our staff are also Dignity Champions, mentoring the entire team to ensure dignity and respect are at the heart of the care we offer.
Set in tranquil, landscaped grounds and gardens, St Catherine’s offers accommodation for 45 residents in a safe, comfortable and friendly Catholic environment. Our beautiful on-site chapel is available for prayer and reflection by residents as well as their family and friends and visiting priests celebrate Mass daily. Although St Catherine’s is built upon the Catholic ethos, people from all denominations are welcome.
Every room at St Catherine’s offers pleasant views over the grounds or gardens and a number of rooms have patio doors which open onto a secure, central garden courtyard which can also be accessed from our spacious garden lounge. Our residents are encouraged to bring with them photos, pictures and other small items which they can add to personalise their rooms and make it feel like home from home.
For residents who enjoy an active lifestyle, our full-time Activity Co-ordinator leads a variety of gentle, stimulating activities and organises special events and trips out throughout the year.
