Accessibility:Access to site easy, but less so for less mobile people. Distances: bus stop 80 yards; shop 10 yards; post office 400 yards; town centre 250 yards; GP 0.5 mile(s); social centre 100 yards.
Lifestyle:Monthly social activities include outings, shows, parties. Some meals available (all meals are taken in common dining room, 7 days a week). This almshouse charity caters for: Elderly people in need and having a local connection of some sort.
Pets:Pets not accepted.
Tenure:Rent (social landlord).
Manager's notes:A somewhat unusual almshouse in that it provides bedsitting accommodation within one building, and all meals are taken in common; so care is taken in introducing new residents to continue providing a harmonious atmosphere. Meals include early morning tea, breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and supper.
Residents do not pay rent, but a Weekly Maintenance Contribution towards the upkeep of the House. The House is staffed 24 hours a day and there is a nurse call system in place.
