Manager's notes:35 cottages built in 1939 on a site adjacent to the original orphanage grounds. A modernisation and extension programme was completed in 1983 and the cottages now provide very good accommodation in a truly delightful setting.
The grounds, which are totally enclosed, are approached by a driveway and the cottages are grouped around a private road. There is a communal hall which is centrally placed and is used for a very full programme of social events. The cottages which are all large enough to provide single or double occupation are maintained and decorated by the Trust.
There is a manager who is responsible for the efficient administration of the accommodation and a 24hr emergency call system is installed which goes through to a call centre whenever the manager is off-site.
Coin operated washing and drying machines are available for use by residents in the laundry.
