Drop-in centres and services are places to visit without an appointment, where elderly people can meet and socialise with others. They can provide walk-in advice or information services so that older people can get assistance with their problems. Drop-in centres can also be for specific groups of people, such as disabled people, carers, or those from particular cultural or ethnic backgrounds. These types of drop-in services can do much to alleviate the isolation of elderly people.
