Care > Telehealth
Telehealth has also been known as preventative telemedicine, and it is remote unobtrusive monitoring of the health of elderly people in their own homes by communication technology. This is particularly helpful for older people with long term medical conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, or high blood pressure, and is preventative because it can identify a health issue before it becomes a problem. It means the electronic exchange of personal medical information from an older person at home, to their doctor or nurse. The range of Telehealth monitors or devices includes pieces of equipment which can monitor your vital signs, such as blood pressure, as and when required.
