Loans are monies borrowed that is usually repaid with interest over time, and elderly people should be very wary of getting a loan with high interest rates that cannot easily be repaid. If it looks as if a loan might be needed, older people would be best advised to first check with a Benefits advice service to see if they are receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled, and/or seek help with money management. There are various types of loans available, both secured and unsecured, so if an elderly person needs a loan they should shop around and ensure they read the small print. Loans include bank loans, car loans, social fund loans, and credit union loans.
