Befriending

What does it do?

Befriending is when a volunteer visits or telephones an older person to chat, listen and become a friend in their own home.

Volunteers usually visit for about an hour at a time, although this can be flexible. They have a natter, drink tea, share a game or go for a walk. Our volunteers do not undertake any housework, personal care or shopping. The service is free and confidential.
