Dementia Friendship & Support Network

Social Activities for People with Dementia and their Carers

What does it do?

We facilitate a range of social opportunities within and around the local community to enable people with dementia and their carers to meet with other people in the same situation and support each other practically and emotionally. Our aim is to enable people with dementia to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives, taking part in activities, events and trips to ensure that they remain participative members of their community. We do coffee mornings, support groups, monthly day trips, lunch clubs, ten pin bowling and our increasingly popular Bi monthly Mens Group. This is held at the Wainwright Club, Horny Road Blackpool every other Monday between 2-4pm and is a chance for men with memory impairments to meet each other and play snooker, darts, dominoes etc.
