Blue Badge Scheme

What does it do?

It supports people to travel independently either as a driver or a passenger by allowing them to park close to their
destination.
The scheme also applies to registered blind people and people with severe upper limb disabilities who regularly drive a motor vehicle but
are unable to operate all or some types of parking meter.In North Yorkshire the County Council administers the blue badge scheme on behalf of the Department for Transport.

Who it is for?

The blue badge scheme provides national parking concessions to disabled people with mobility problems.
