Meal Services in Essex

Meal delivery services in Essex

What does it do?

Essex County Council recommend using a meal delivery service that has been approved by their Trading Standards team. These suppliers all have the 'Buy with Confidence' accreditation, a benchmark to ensure they provide good quality food and a trusted service. This includes DBS checking, a process to ensure relevant safeguarding referrals are made, complaints procedures and monitoring, and food hygiene rating.

Meals are available to people with special diets, food allergies and intolerances, people with specific medical needs, and those with cultural and religious requirements. Suppliers will be able to tell you how your needs can be met.

To find a local supplier, visit the Buy with Confidence website (https://www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk/find-a-business/), put in your postcode and choose 'Meals on Wheels' from the menu.  You can then choose from a list and contact the supplier directly.

Who it is for?

If you can't prepare your own meals, have no-one to help, or cannot heatup frozen meals either, there are suppliers across Essex which can deliver a hot meal to your home at lunchtime.
