Rowan Lodge Day Centre

What does it do?

Rowan Lodge Day Centre offers support to older people who live in the Halesowen area who have a dementia related need. The centre also offers respite for their carers. The unit is located within the Shenstone home for older people and is open Monday to Friday offering up to 12 places per day. The building is accessible for disabled people and we aim to prevent social isolation and promote and maintain stable mental
well-being. A range of activities include skittles and darts to promote co-ordination skills, physical activities such as gentle exercise groups
and movement to music, quizzes and memory orientated games to encourage memory recall, health and beauty groups to promote self worth and awareness. There is also support for individuals to access the local community i.e. shopping trips and trips to the theatre and garden
centres.
