Princethorpe Day Centre

What does it do?

The main aim of Princethorpe Day Centre is to promote the best possible care, therapy and enablement for people with multi disability needs, in partnership with the individual themselves, their famlilies and other agencies. The promotion of independence for each individual is our ultimate aim, with the observance of dignity and respect, for each person. Activities include adult education throughout the year; Observation of various festivals and cultural events as diwali and xmas; Eating out and visiting places as much as possible to give meaning to the persons time at the centre; Individual support for the profound and multiple learning disability group; Promoting individual plans with each person, with attainable outcomes, to enhance that person`s quality of life. There is a monthly doctor`s clinic (inhouse). Also the administration office is an information base for people with profound and multiple learning disability or other severe disability. A monthly newsletter is produced for families/carers. Information from other organisations such as Mencap is included in this. The centre is affiliated to the Profound and Multiple Learning Disability Group of Mencap in London.
