What does it do?We can assist you to arrange major and minor adaptations and repairs to your home, often funded by a grant but we can also carry out privately funded work. Adaptations could be: a wet room shower, ground floor living such as an extension or garage conversion, extra WC, or a stair lift, ramps and wider doorways for better access. We offer advice and support with the processes and with grant applications and will advise you on any benefits or other assistance you may be eligible for. We can refer you to other useful services.

We employ four CRB checked handy persons who can carry out minor adaptations and repairs including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, gardening and some electrical work. We can put up shelves and cupboards, build flat pack furniture, provide extra sockets, replace taps and wc cisterns, deal with leaks and much more. Our handy persons are trained as trusted assessors and can provide small ramps and galvanised steel handrails as well as grab rails, extra bannister rails, lever taps and key safes. We also offer security, falls prevention and energy efficiency measures. Gardening tasks can include day to day maintenance and tidying, lopping, planting and landscaping. We can also make your garden low maintenance by redesigning it so that minimal upkeep is needed in future. This is great for someone who enjoys their garden but can't maintain it easily.
