What does it do?The Home Improvement Agency Service offers practical advice and guidance to assist and support older people and disabled people to maintain their independence in their own home. The HIA provides services to homeowners. Each area office offers a different range of services. Area office staff will be able to give you further advice and guidance about the different options available in your area. You must live in one of these areas in order to access these services. The types of services on offer include: - The Handyperson Scheme – usually undertake small maintenance and repair tasks at a very reasonable cost.
- Health Through Warmth – helping connect those in need with what they need most, warmth, improving living conditions.
- The Kickstart Loan Scheme – offering affordable loans to help you to improve your home.
- Services can also include adaptations, replacement windows, roofing work and whole range of other options. Please feel free to call the relevant area office to find out what kinds of services are available in your area.
