Alton Community Care

What does it do?

We provide a transport service to hospitals, Health Centres, doctor's and dentist's appointments, fetching prescriptions, and also sitting-in.

Who it is for?

The service is available for anyone who cannot normally use public transport this is often the elderly or frail.

Unfortunately we cannot transport passengers who are unable to get into/out of cars without more than the minimum of assistance, unless such passengers are accompanied by their own helper who can undertake to provide the necessary assistance.

We need to know in advance if the passenger is taking a walking frame (and what size/variety), so that a suitable vehicle can be provided.

With regret wheelchair users cannot normally be accommodated.

Where it is available?

Local service (East Hampshire).

What it costs:

We are a registered charity, although we do ask for donations to help cover costs (the Co-ordinator will indicate a suggested amount).

How to access or apply for it:

Please call the co-ordinator on 541520  (an answering machine will be available outside of normal hours). Please allow at least 2-3 days notice if possible.
