What does it do?

The service provides door-to-door transport to take West Moors residents to local appointments. Priority is given to medical appointments but whenever possible other activities such as shopping, visiting Church or relatives in hospital, etc will also be accommodated.

Who it is for?

People over 55 years of age and those who have difficulty travelling.

Where it is available?

Local service (East Dorset).

What it costs:

Dorset Partnership for Older People Project (Dorset POPP) provided start-up funding for this scheme with the aim that it would become self-funding. Cost for journey is 60p per mile based on the mileage used. This is calculated from the driver's home and back again. The driver will inform client of the cost at the start of the return journey.

How to access or apply for it:

Telephone Mr John Mullett on 01202 874581 to register for the service and request a booking.

What to expect then:

The Co-ordinator will contact an available driver to book your journey and ring you to tell you the name of the driver and the arrival time at your home.

Additional information:

3 days' notice is required. Volunteers drive their own cars and some may be able to accommodate walking aids.
