What does it do?Age Concern Surrey’s Hometime service provides domestic support to older people to enable them to live independently at home for as long as possible.

There are 12 Care Advisers who organise the service, each with their own area, thus covering the whole county. The Care Adviser visits the person’s home to discuss:
  • The domestic help required
  • Hours needed (up to 4 hours per week/ 1 – 2 visits per week)
  • Cost
  • Equipment required
  • Holiday/sickness arrangements
  • Insurance
The Hometime Co-ordinator will then introduce a suitable home help who has been reference checked and has a CRB clearance.

Home helps are able to assist with the following:
  • Housework (dusting, hovering, bedmaking, kitchen and bathrooms)
  • Laundry
  • Shopping
  • Prescription collection
  • Preparation of light snacks
Other assistance may be possible as agreed between the client, Hometime Co-ordinator and home help.
