Age UK BristolLink Up Befriending/Enabling Service

What does it do?The aim of the Link Up Service is to provide help to older people in their own homes to enable them to maintain independence by reducing social isolation and social exclusion. You will be introduced to a trained Volunteer who will provide weekly visits to your home.

What support can we offer?
  • Be a Link to the outside world, and help to find local social contacts
  • Provide befriending/ social contact for those who are not able or do not wish to attend groups/clubs
  • Confidence building to go back out
  • Act as an early warning system as needs change
  • Signposting to other services

How to access or apply for it:

The service is provided by volunteers and places will be allocated and prioritized according to the needs of the individual. Referrals can be made by yourself, a relative or a professional. For further information please contact the Link Up Service on 0117 928 1538.
